Hello everyone and welcome to the elevator wouldn't podcast where we as passive income investors with a special emphasis on married professional couples, deconstruct first class investors and entrepreneurs to achieve repeatable, long lasting, and practical change towards a life of location time and financial freedom. So today, it's just us. And we wanted to give you an update of where we are just reflections on our journey, and just to have an intimate conversation. So currently, we were with my mom and dad in Austin, Texas, from October to early January. And now we're with Derek's mom and dad here in Colorado Springs. And it's absolutely beautiful. We get to see the Rocky Mountains every day and had a nice little Blizzard recently. So it's like a little winter wonderland over here. When we first came to Colorado, like I think we got here. And then the next day, we had to fly out to Park City for Derek scope abundance conference. And that was pretty fantastic. How was that experience for us? Nice.Derek Clifford:
Yeah, I think every time you get to find other people and get together with others who have the same mindset as you and have the same drive determination and positive outlook, it really helps you evaluate where you are as a person, maybe what you need to work on yourself and what you need to do. But generally, like a lot of people going to these events we've already learned, which is really interesting, that instead of figuring out something to do, it's really more about figuring out who to be. And in general, it's more about being authentic and true to yourself. And what's been really interesting about these last couple of trips, right where we've been with family for so long and you know, been surrounded by incredible people is that we've got a chance to kind of look at some operating patterns and or operating systems that we have running in our own mindset. And you know, our parents do the best that they can with everything that they've had, and we can't fault them at all. But sometimes, you know, you can't help but take a look at some of the systems that you came from. And notice that you've changed a lot, whether it's for better or worse, it's really interesting to identify those patterns and going to that event had helped me understand that I vibrate on this energy that's more in tune with these high level entrepreneurs, right. And so that's really been exciting for me. And we've really had an opportunity to work on ourselves and help work on a friend for a while and really kind of add a ton of value to people, whoever we come across. And so I think that's kind of what I took away from that event in Park City. And the energy that I'm looking to try to carry forward through. And it's just so funny how energy is fleeting to me, like for instance, today, it didn't start off on the right foot, I would kind of tell the story just because it's so it's so fun. But I had a phone, my phone, and I put it on as I was brushing my teeth early this morning and put it on the side counter. And my parents have like this tile flooring right underneath this counter. And as I set it down, and went to reach for my toothbrush, it wasn't set, right. And so the phone dropped facedown onto the tile, and the screen shattered so that there's like this, this constant white line across the screen and it doesn't like work, it doesn't type anymore. So that on top of a recent adjustment, because we went to a chiropractor recently and started to figure out that we had some not so good things happening with our chiropractic situation. So we had some adjustments done to my neck. And so I had a headache the whole day, we had to go to T Mobile, I was planning on decompressing this whole day. And then up until about a couple of hours ago, when we had another podcast recording, I wasn't feeling so great at all. Even though everything is fantastic. I got an awesome new phone. We're heading into closing another property next week with some great partners that we have from California. And I still couldn't find it, the energy to be a positive place. It's just funny how fleeting it is that your mind can really control a lot of things and having the ability to kind of reframe the situation and step into it in a positive light just changes the whole thing. So really, really happy with the way things have turned have been turning out and the the increased awareness. So that's a long story told long. And so I'm just gonna go ahead and and pass it over to Sophie to see what maybe she's learned or what's happened with her life over the last couple of weeks and months since we last reported inSophie:
Yeah, absolutely. And I think it's such a point that you brought up about really just taking a moment to look at our own operating patterns and our operating systems and not just question where we've gotten them from but quite shouldn't? Are they serving us? Are they putting us into situations that are causing us joy or happiness? Are they causing us misery and frustration and really delving and we got a lot of help from our mentors, Phil and Gail toll. I mean, they've been mentoring us now for what, like almost five years. And I can really see, you know, what a difference that's made for just our health or happiness, our relationship, our communication, and also be ability to see ourselves for what we are and, and to trust that our growth is, you know, it's beyond our old patterns. And stepping into that new realm of possibility. I think that's been sort of the most kind of eye opening thing for us is like, when I went to the Go pendants event with Derek, you know, I, initially I thought, Well, I'm just gonna take it easy, I'm gonna just sit this one out, you know, it's always really easy to say that and yeah, I decided, You know what, like, I really want to be in that energy. So he had a, he had already booked his plane ticket, he had already got a shuttle, the, you know, the hotel room and everything. And then of course, I sort of come in at the last minute be like, wait a second, I want to go toDerek Clifford:
I love that so much.Sophie:
So he's all the fears, always the planner, and I'm, I'm a little bit more spontaneous. And I wanted to take that opportunity to hang out with the girl wives I wanted to meet, you know, the other go pendants, men and, and just really just step into that energy of possibility and the energy of like elevation because like Derek said earlier, you know, when you find yourself amongst people of that mindset in that caliber, you can't help but rise to, to that caliber as well, you know, is interesting to again, being like the spontaneous, Sophie I, that morning, I woke up when we're about to go to the Denver Airport. And I thought to myself, Hey, I'm gonna have five days to just decompress, I'm going to do a five day water fast. So that's what I did, I just decided I'm going to do a water fast, we had been eating really clean for the week and a half or two weeks prior to that just a lot of greens and salads, and no sugar. And I had an amazing watercress, it had been four years since I had an opportunity to do that just because you know, daily activities and demands get in the way. But I would encourage everyone if you happen to like to really consider it because it puts you into a different realm altogether. I mean, for me, personally, I become a lot more grounded in touch with my own spirituality, my own sense of being. So oftentimes, you know, as we shared with you before, we're sort of go go go, we're, we're always doing something. And it was really a great opportunity for me to embrace my existence, for lack of a better phrase, and a lot of clarity, a lot of aha cars and breakthroughs that came out of that. So yeah, that that's pretty much it for me, we were having a great time with with Derek's mom and dad. And, you know, just getting closer to getting a feel of where we want to be, and in how we want to be in the future. So our vision of where we want to live that's taken shape, and you know, really excited for Japan in a few months.Derek Clifford:
Yeah, that's something that we're really kind of counting the days down towards, you know, the journey itself has been really incredible, like every place that we go to, we're also physically and metaphorically leaving baggage places, right? Like, we're just, we're just kind of like ditching stuff left and right, you know, like, we're kind of ditching a whole bunch of material things. And we're also leaving these mental patterns behind. And I think that's what's so symbolic and so cool about this journey that we're going on. You know, we don't have kids yet. We've been trying for a while, but we have we don't have kids yet. And so we're we're taking these lemons that life is giving us and making lemonade out of it. And I think that's really empowering. And we can't help but maybe once a week at least say, Well, you know what life is so good right now, we always say that to each other. And I know that that's probably something that you guys have heard many times before. We've already said that. But you know, we just keep feeling it over and over again. We just feel really blessed and grateful to be able to do what we're doing. And you know, what's really funny too, is we, one of the things that I want to make an observation on that we can kind of wrap up here is that if there's a point in your life where it seems like things are scarce, right, like things are not going your way. I think it's really important to learn to sit with it for a little while, because Sophie helped point out a pattern back when we were in Austin, Texas, that we go through these phases and flows where money for instance, or energy or health or whatever seems to be at a peak state, and then it drops to like a really low state, then it peaks up again, and it drops again. And so there's always these cycles, these ebbs and flows. And whenever things don't go your way, if you have a pissy fit, or if you start getting upset with yourself, right, it's not going to help anyone, and being able to leverage your spouse and rely on your spouse to say, hey, you know, this is just the pattern of how life flows, you know, things ebb things flow, and you just have to sit with it and be patient as things grow, helps me understand that our spiritual practice is really important, and something that we need to continue emphasizing, because that spiritual practice helps me sit through those ebbs and flows. And so that's something I'm gonna be focusing on a little bit more, these next couple of months to get ready for the Japan trip. Even though things are going really well. We're seeing so much success that now Sophia are getting overwhelmed with work, overwhelmed with money, overwhelmed with adventure overwhelmed with options, I hope that doesn't come across as bragging. Because you have that too. I know you do. And learning to be rooted in spirituality and calm will help us make the right decisions. And so that being said, that's going to be our focus over the next release for me over the next month or so, at the same time doing social media and all kinds of incredible stuff out there that we cannot wait to share with you. But we'll have to wait. It's just, it's incredible what life has to say. And I think that's that's all I wanted to comment this time. So good.Sophie:
I just want to add on one last thing, just again, one of the breakthroughs I had, and I think this really ties in well, with what Derek mentioned, is just extraordinary trust. Just that, you know, no matter the strife, no matter the suffering, no matter how we're feeling in the moment, what we're seeing out there in the world, just trusting that everything's gonna be okay, so one of my favorite quotes is not to spoil the ending for you. But everything's going to be okay. I, I live by that quote. And I think that really sums up for me what spirituality what all the steep practices and, and that can manifest itself into material abundance of what Derek said, the the adventure, the material abundance, the spiritual abundance, like so I, I just want to add that on. Because I think it's not mentioned enough. The fact that like, I know, we put in a lot of hard work and take a lot of action. But at the end of the day, you know, there's a greater power than all of us that's working in the background. And I think we need to just give praise and gratitudeDerek Clifford:
to that. Couldn't agree more. What do you think? Listener? You find that that's also true.Sophie:
Yeah, please engage with us. You know, we would love to meet all of you out there, where sometimes we're sitting here, we're just like, Hmm, I wonder who's listening. But thank you for just following us and listening to us and, and just really, walking with us through this whole journey and hearing our story, really appreciate you.Derek Clifford:
Yeah, and we hope that you're picking up some valuable advice or tips, or maybe even mindset, if that's what you're looking for here. We hope that whatever you are looking for here, we're providing you and, and if that's not happening, we want to hear it, we really do. And we want to understand more about who you are. And it gets to know you a little bit more so that we can help transform your life.
